- 2004 Activity Report
Last year saw the launch of SESAME,
the joint EUROCONTROL - European Commission programme to develop the Master
Plan for the implementation by 2020 of a high-performance European ATM Network
to meet Single European Sky objectives. The work programme of the Experimental
Centre has been redefined in line with the emerging Master Plan. The activity
report describes the results which have been delivered within this structure in

Jan van
Doorn New Director of Experimental Centre

Jan van Doorn has been appointed Director,
EUROCONTROL Experimental Centre, with effect from 1 June 2005. Jan was formerly
EUROCONTROL’s Director Infrastructure, ATC Systems and Support then Senior
R&D Coordinator and, latterly, Manager R&D Coordination and Validation.
Jan holds degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University in the
Netherlands, his native country. He spent 32 years working in the National
Aerospace Laboratory in the Netherlands before joining EUROCONTROL in 1999.

| Thoroughly conversant with the
research domain and with a solid background in project management, Jan also has
considerable experience of working in international environments. He succeeds
Jean-Marc Garot who returns to the French General Inspectorate for Civil
Aviation and Meteorology.
