eDEP Demos

The eDEP project makes use of the Java Web Start technology for web-downloading. This product must be installed on your machine in order for the downloads to function correctly. For EEC staff, this product should be installed by the ITM/CS Hotline, via a prepared SMS package.

Refer to the technology page for more information.

For those unable to install this Java Web Start technology, the following CWP demo movie may be downloaded. It demonstrates some of the CWP functionality in action (co-ordination/transfer, controller orders, graphics etc).

The demos are divided down into the following groups

  • Standard 'vanilla' demonstrations
  • CORA2 2002-3 demonstrators
  • EVP AMAN/EMAN demonstrator
  • ASMT Traffic Replay Tool
  • TCAS Demonstrator
  • SPD1 Demonstrator
  • C-ATM Demonstrator
  • HFLAB Uncertainty Demonstrator
  • eDEP test scenarios
  • HF Student / PhD Area
  • Super Sector
  • TCT
  • TBS

    Troubleshooting ...

The Java WebStart product may fail to launch under certain circumstances, and will display an "Invalid Argument Error". This problem would seem to be linked to file system permissions.

If this is the case then do the following :
  • right click on the "Launch application" link, and save the JNLP file to some location
  • once the file is saved, open it (e.g. double clicking on the JNLP file)
  • Java Web Start should launch, causing the application to be downloaded

Note : the demos are normally provided in 2 versions, one which makes use of transparent colours, and one which uses normal colours.
Currently, the transparent colour demonstrations will only work on PCs. Equally, these PCs must have their display properties set to make use of True Colour. This can be verified, by clicking on the desktop with the right hand mouse button, and selecting the "properties" menu option.
